meet the face behind the name

Our cosmetic nurse Issy Wright began her nursing career in 2018. Having worked in healthcare since 2016, Issy discovered her passion for nursing early on. She worked in multiple different fields of nursing, from aged care, to GP clinics, to hospitals settings. Once the global pandemic hit in 2020, Issy found herself working on a Covid ward. Wearing N95 masks meant that faces were hidden and skin was damaged. This sparked an interest in skin care.

Issy had always had a passion for beauty but had always seen her career heading down a nursing pathway. She discovered there was a way to combine the two. Issy began her cosmetic nursing journey in 2021, training in cosmetic foundations with a leading doctor in cosmetics, Dr Gordon Ku. From there, she did contracting work while working in the hospital as a cardiac nurse. Issy found that it was too inconsistent relying on contractor opportunities. It was tough to get a foot in the industry.

This blessing in disguise lead Issy to decide to start her own cosmetic practice in 2022, thus, "Injectables by Issy" was born. Issy started working from Hollywood Lash Studio, a lash salon in Ferntree Gully with a team of expert lash and brow technicians. Once established, Issy decided to branch out and opened her second location in Lilydale at Skin Theory & Co in 2023.

Currently, Aesthetics by Issy operates as a one-woman show.
